INTENDED USE
CEA Fast Test Kit (Immunofluorescence Assay) is intended for in vitro quantitative determination of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in human serum or plasma samples. This test can be used as a tumor marker to monitor colorectal carcinoma treatment and follow-up. But CEA is not reliable for diagnosing cancer or as a screening test for early detection of cancer.

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) was first found in colon cancer and in fetal intestinal tissue. Elevated serum CEA is seen in cancers of the digestive tract as well as other systems. Continuous monitoring of CEA levels can be used to monitor the efficacy of tumor treatment and to determine prognosis. Serum CEA levels generally fall when the disease improves and rise when the disease progresses.
